This is different from the noise and light terror treatment in the same way as the fake drownings were different from conventional torture - it reaches at fear rather than at pain. This brings up the question, who is liable in case one of these loggers would get killed because his team deliberately lowered all standards of operational safety? Not to paint the devil (in oil, on the ocean, haha), but this way of business is an insurance nightmare waiting to break loose.
